Great easy setup. Past owners e-sim was still active. I removed it.

Great phone. Reasonable size; bigger than my former SE but not too big for most pockets on purses or pants. Very user friendly, easy transition from previous setups and no home button which I thought I’d hate but is totally fine!

It arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I got the Excellent option but I didn't see any signs of wear, even the battery is at 100% health. So happy to have bought a quality phone that will last me for many years and not contribute to new materials!

iPhone 17e questions, answered

The refurbished iPhone 17e is a fully current phone, not a budget holdover. Launched in March 2026, it runs the same A19 chip as the rest of the iPhone 17 family, starts at 256GB of storage (double what the iPhone 16e offered at the same $599 price), and brings MagSafe and Ceramic Shield 2 to the "e" line for the first time. The honest trade-offs: a single rear camera and a 60Hz screen. For most buyers, those are easy to live with. Refurbished from $500 on Zaltova, it's an even easier call.
For most buyers, yes. The iPhone 17e runs the newer A19 chip versus the iPhone 16's A18, ships with 256GB of base storage (vs. 128GB on the iPhone 16), and packs a faster C1X modem and Ceramic Shield 2 with 3x better scratch resistance than the previous generation. It also has more iOS software support ahead of it.
The area where the iPhone 16 holds its own: camera versatility. The 16 has a dual-camera system with an ultrawide lens. The 17e uses a single 48MP Fusion camera, though its optical-quality 2x Telephoto covers most everyday zoom needs.
Choose the iPhone 17e: newer chip, more base storage, better scratch resistance, longer software support runway
Choose the iPhone 16: dual cameras with an ultrawide lens for more shooting flexibility

For most people, no. The iPhone 17e's 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED is sharp and bright (up to 1,200 nits peak HDR) and handles messaging, streaming, social scrolling, and photography without a hitch. The 60Hz vs. 120Hz gap shows up most when scrolling quickly or playing graphics-intensive games. For everyday tasks, it's barely perceptible. In a way, the 60Hz screen is the whole point of the 17e: it's what keeps the price at $899 new while everything else caught up with the flagship line.
Yes. The iPhone 17e fully supports Apple Intelligence, powered by the A19 chip's 16-core Neural Engine. That includes Writing Tools, enhanced Siri, photo editing with Clean Up, and Visual Intelligence accessible via the Action button. Every refurbished iPhone 17e on Zaltova comes with current iOS and full Apple Intelligence support built in, regardless of condition grade. No subscription required.

Zaltova's four grades for the iPhone 17e are all guaranteed 100% functional. The difference is cosmetic only, not performance.
Fair (from $500): visible signs of use on the body; screen scratches may be visible when the display is on
Good (from $506): visible signs of use on the body; screen is scratch-free
Excellent (from $515): very light signs of use; barely noticeable at arm's length; screen scratch-free
Premium (from $537): near-perfect cosmetics; manufacturer-approved replacement parts; battery guaranteed at 90%+ capacity
Battery health is guaranteed at 80%+ across all grades; Premium steps that up to 90%+. Every grade includes a 1-year warranty and 30 days to change your mind. See what each grade means on the Zaltova Promise page.

Yes. Choosing a refurbished iPhone 17e instead of a new one avoids approximately 92% of the greenhouse gas emissions tied to smartphone manufacturing, or roughly 77 kg of CO₂e per device, based on Zaltova's calculations from the ADEME 2022 study. That figure covers the manufacturing phase. About 80% of a smartphone's entire carbon footprint happens before you ever turn it on, during production. Buying refurbished keeps an existing device in use and skips that footprint almost entirely. Learn more about the environmental impact of buying refurbished.
